Position Summary...
The Director of Walmart Energy-Strategic Initiatives leads the development and execution of utility strategies and programs to optimize utility expenses and advance operations and sustainability initiatives. This role oversees ideation, development, and approval of utility programs, regulatory compliance, and cost-saving opportunities while collaborating across departments and external agencies. The position requires strategic analysis of energy consumption, legislation, and market trends to support business objectives and operational efficiency. The Director fosters continuous improvement, ensures adherence to ethical standards, and drives innovation in renewable energy and sustainability efforts to support Walmart’s long-term goals.The Utility Partnerships team collaborates with utilities, regulators, and lawmakers to manage utility risks and advance an affordable, reliable, and clean energy system. The team develops business-enabling rules and rates, supports clean energy initiatives, and creates utility products to maintain competitive markets. Working cross-functionally and with external partners, the team drives energy management programs and regulatory compliance aligned with Walmart’s operational goals. What you'll do...
- Lead and implement strategies to reduce energy and utility expenses, create opportunities to strengthen the grid, invest in our assets, and create customer solutions through utility partnerships and programs
- Engage in regulatory, legislative, and other external processes required to deliver solutions
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent through effective workforce planning
- Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to drive business goals
- Ensure compliance with company standards of integrity and ethics
What you'll bring:
- Experience in energy management, utility operations, energy regulation or policy, utility customer program development, sustainability, or utility cost reduction
- Experience with community outreach and building external partnerships
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
- Knowledge of regulatory and legislative processes related to energy and sustainability
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with talent development, mentorship, and workforce planning
- Ability to interpret utility data and implement solutions
- Commitment to integrity, ethics, and fostering belonging
- Advanced degree or certifications in energy management, sustainability, or related fields (nice to have)

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field and 5 years’ experience in utility operations or related area OR 7 years’ experience in utility operations or related area.
1 year’s supervisory experience.
