As Strategic Accounts Director, you will be responsible for driving national account growth and strengthening relationships with Fortune 500 clients, global brokerage firms, and key industry partners. You will focus on strategic business development, cross-regional collaboration, and high-level client engagement to position Ware Malcomb as a trusted advisor within the commercial real estate and design industry.
As Strategic Accounts Director, you will be responsible for driving national account growth and strengthening relationships with Fortune 500 clients, global brokerage firms, and key industry partners. You will focus on strategic business development, cross-regional collaboration, and high-level client engagement to position Ware Malcomb as a trusted advisor within the commercial real estate and design industry.
This is a full-time, long-term position.

Your Role
Demonstrate commitment to learning, understanding, and implementing all organizational business philosophies and practicesDevelop and execute strategies to expand national accounts and enterprise‑level client relationshipsBuild and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers within major brokerage organizations and large corporate end‑user clientsIdentify and pursue high‑value opportunities through proactive outreach and strategic partnershipsRepresent the organization at industry conferences through presentations, panel participation, and speaking engagementsAttend industry events and networking functions to enhance visibility and strengthen market presencePartner with regional leadership and subject‑matter experts to align business development pursuits with organizational growth goalsLead development of strategic tools, including CRM dashboards, performance trackers, and standardized reporting systemsPlan, coordinate, and execute client engagement events and networking opportunitiesDrive measurable growth in RFP volume, awarded projects, strategic account revenue, and client expansionMaintain accurate CRM tracking and prepare monthly business development reports for leadershipReview project revenue projections to support forecasting, planning, and quarterly review cyclesPrepare monthly business reports and participate in recurring revenue, strategy, and forecasting meetingsProactively pursue new business opportunities and support organizational growth initiativesAssist in creating the annual business strategy documents and understand revenue, diversification, and geographic expansion goalsSupport achievement of targeted pursuit hit ratesAttend key business development, industry, and professional association events across assigned marketsSchedule and lead networking meetings, coffees, and relationship‑building activitiesCollaborate with senior leadership on strategic business development connection planningCoordinate efforts and maintain communication with national account team members across regionsQualifications
Preferred minimum of 10 years of experience in interior design or architecture, including at least two years at the Project Manager or Senior Manager levelExperience within the broader commercial real estate industry is also considered valuableStrong business development skills with demonstrated success in managing, tracking, and following up on growth opportunitiesLeadership experience preferred, with the ability to guide teams and foster a collaborative environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confident public speaking and the ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholdersExperience in strategic planning, client engagement, and cross-functional collaborationProficiency with business technology tools, including HubSpot or other CRM systems, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and comfort navigating multiple projects simultaneously
