Director, Production Planning

The Director of Production Planning and Control provides strategic leadership for production planning across multiple repair types and high-volume operations. This role aligns production schedules with business objectives to optimize capacity, inventory, workflow, and compliance, ensuring consistent delivery of customer and organizational commitments. The Director establishes strong governance and internal controls to drive operational excellence and financial integrity, while leading and developing a high-performing planning team focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and talent development.

This is an onsite role in our Lewisville TX facility.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Develop and manage the master production schedule across multiple repair types and distribution channels to ensure demand fulfillment and strategic alignment
  • Lead daily and weekly production planning and execution, aligning operational activities with master schedule requirements and long-term business objectives
  • Create, analyze, and adjust production plans to balance customer demand, resource availability, and operational constraints
  • Direct the controlled release of work orders to optimize resource utilization, maintain schedule adherence, and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Monitor and adjust production plans to achieve inventory investment targets, improve inventory turns, and support financial goals
  • Partner with stockroom, receiving, and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of handsets, components, and repair materials while upholding governance standards
  • Oversee parts requirements planning and requisition processes to ensure uninterrupted production and material readiness
  • Lead Excess & Obsolete (E&O) analysis, clearly communicating risks and opportunities to Supply Chain, Finance, and Client leadership
  • Establish and maintain a robust governance framework, including audit processes and risk management protocols, to ensure policy and regulatory compliance
  • Deliver accurate and timely production performance reporting (daily, weekly, and monthly) to stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Collaborate with production leadership to ensure capacity alignment, drive continuous improvement, and enhance operational performance
  • Champion process innovation, strategic partnerships, and continuous improvement initiatives to advance production planning capabilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing production planning team, setting clear objectives, providing ongoing feedback, and fostering engagement and growth
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to ensure alignment across planning, operations, and support functions
  • Partner closely with internal and client-facing teams that drive repair demand to anticipate fluctuations and proactively adjust production strategies

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in demand planning, production planning, or production control within a manufacturing, repair, or retail environment
  • 10+ years of overall professional business experience, with progressive responsibility
  • Proven leadership experience directing production control or planning functions across multiple teams and workflows
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, production planning, production control, and WIP management
  • Demonstrated ability to balance customer demand, operational priorities, and shifting deadlines in a fastpaced, highvolume environment
  • Highly analytical, resultsdriven leader with strong judgment and the ability to make decisions with incomplete or evolving data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive outcomes in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and advance complex operational initiatives with minimal oversight
  • Solid understanding of IT-enabled business processes and the ability to partner effectively on systems and process changes

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) designation
  • Experience operating in environments with high customer interaction, frequent reprioritization, and competing operational demands
  • Demonstrated success leading change initiatives, process improvements, or transformational planning efforts

Pay Range:

$122,400.00 - $204,400.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
