We are seeking a seasoned, compassionate Human Resources Director to lead all HR operations for a multi-site behavioral healthcare organization. This fully onsite role in Beachwood, Ohio, requires a strategic and hands-on leader to manage a team of four HR professionals, with a major focus on recruiting and managing the recruiting function. The HR Director will oversee recruitment strategies, talent acquisition, and onboarding to ensure the organization attracts and retains top-tier healthcare talent while also handling all other aspects of HR, including employee relations, compliance, and performance management. This role demands a leader with a strong healthcare HR background, the ability to mentor and develop their team, and a balance of operational rigor with empathy and accessibility.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of four HR professionals, including a dedicated recruiting team
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract, hire, and retain top healthcare talent across multiple sites
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle: sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding
- Manage all employee relations for 200+ employees, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management
- Advise executive leadership on HR strategy, workforce planning, retention, and organizational development
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-specific employment regulations
- Drive improvements in HR policies, procedures, and systems to optimize efficiency and employee experience
- Partner with leadership to foster a positive, supportive, and mission-driven culture
- Maintain a strong onsite presence and accessibility to employees and leaders alike
Qualifications
- Significant HR leadership experience within a healthcare setting (required — non-negotiable)
- Proven experience managing HR teams, including recruiters, and supporting organizations of 150+ employees
- Deep knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and healthcare employment standards
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate, hands-on leadership style
- Confident, steady presence capable of handling sensitive and high-stakes situations
- Ability to operate fully onsite in Beachwood, Ohio
- Strategic thinker who is also comfortable being hands-on day to day
- High integrity, discretion, and sound judgment
Compensation
- Salary range: $110,000 – $120,000
- Full-time, onsite role based in Beachwood, Ohio
