Job Description:
The Director, HCP Marketing is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and execution of marketing initiatives for pritelivir. This role plays a critical role in driving the brand’s success by developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives that support commercial objectives, launch readiness, and effective market engagement.
This position provides strategic insights, leads tactical planning and program design, and ensures alignment across commercial functions. The role partners closely with Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, and other cross-functional teams to deliver coordinated and effective brand execution in a launch environment.
This position requires active engagement with the field sales force, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and healthcare providers to ensure that brand strategy and messaging are effectively translated into meaningful customer interactions. The Director should have a balance of strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and operational execution to support the successful launch and growth of pritelivir.
The base compensation range for this role is $200 - 225K. Base Compensation is influenced by many factors including, but not limited to: time in the role, previous experience, skills, knowledge, performance, work requirements, internal equity, and business / economic conditions.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy, Launch Planning, and Market Shaping
- Leads the development and execution of the brand strategy for pritelivir, with a strong focus on launch readiness and early adoption.
- Drives cross-functional launch planning to ensure alignment on timelines, milestones, and commercial readiness.
- Identifies and prioritizes key market opportunities, barriers, and customer segments to inform launch strategy.
- Supports disease state education and market shaping efforts to build awareness and understanding of unmet need.
- Continuously evaluates market dynamics, competitive activity, and customer insights to refine launch strategy and positioning.
Tactical Planning and Program Development
- Leads the design and execution of marketing programs and promotional initiatives to support pre-launch and launch objectives.
- Oversees development of core brand messaging and promotional assets to ensure clarity, consistency, and relevance for target audiences.
- Ensures alignment between brand strategy and tactical execution across all channels, including personal and non-personal promotion.
- Partners with cross-functional teams to ensure timely development and deployment of launch materials and resources.
Field Readiness and Customer Engagement
- Partners closely with the field sales organization to support launch readiness, including training, messaging alignment, and resource deployment.
- Ensures field teams are equipped with effective tools and materials to communicate brand value and support customer engagement.
- Engages with Key Opinion Leaders and healthcare providers to gather insights, inform strategy, and build advocacy.
- Supports advisory boards, speaker programs, and congress activities to strengthen relationships and inform ongoing brand development.
Cross-Functional Leadership and Alignment
- Collaborates with Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Regulatory, and other internal partners to ensure coordinated launch execution.
- Aligns stakeholders around key launch priorities and ensures clear communication of brand strategy and plans.
- Serves as a central marketing lead for cross-functional launch planning and execution.
- Works closely with Director, HCP Marketing (Transplant) to contribute to the overall strategy and success for the portfolio.
Insights, Analytics, and Performance Management
- Uses market research, analytics, and customer insights to inform launch strategy and optimize marketing programs.
- Defines and tracks key performance indicators to assess launch performance and early adoption.
- Applies data-driven insights to refine strategy, improve execution, and support ongoing brand growth.
Operational and Financial Management
- Manages brand budgets and resources to support launch priorities and ensure effective allocation.
- Oversees vendor and agency relationships to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of launch materials and programs.
- Ensures all marketing activities are executed in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
Organizational Leadership
- Contributes to broader commercial planning and strategic discussions related to pritelivir and the launch environment.
- Communicates launch plans, brand strategy, and performance updates to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Promotes a collaborative and results-oriented approach to achieving launch success and long-term brand growth.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- BA in a relevant field; MBA with a focus in Strategy and Marketing, a plus
- At least 7 years’ relevant pharmaceutical industry experience in Marketing or Sales
- Infectious disease, rare disease experience a plus
- Significant experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing
- Experience supporting or leading product launches or major brand initiatives
- Experience developing and executing marketing strategies in a commercial environment
- Experience working in a cross-functional and matrixed organization
- Experience engaging with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to translate insights into actionable marketing strategies and launch plans
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to lead complex initiatives and drive cross-functional alignment
- Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to inform decisions
