What You'll Do

AsDirector of Client Finance, for the EEMA, AsiaX & GC regions, you are a pivotal leader within our Global Client Finance function, responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of engagement accounting operations, adherence to US GAAP standards, and providing operational support to Client Service Teams (CSTs) and Partners.
As part of the global operations service line, Client Finance is responsible for driving compliance and standardization related to engagement and revenue processes. While Client Finance colleagues report to the global function, they are organized regionally and operate as an extension of regional and office finance teams, who are ultimately accountable for GAAP & performance compliance.
You will collaborate directly with leadership teams across Asia, EEMA and GC including Partners and CSTs, acting as a strategic advisor on all matters related to engagement economics. In your role as a senior leader within the Finance function, you will also work closely with various pillars, such as Cell Finance and Commercial Arrangements, to enhance client finance capabilities. Your efforts will focus on delivering a seamless and integrated experience for our partners while driving operational excellence and strategic alignment.
You should have a strong background in engagement accounting within a professional services environment. You’ll also need proven experience in driving efficiencies, optimizing and translating performance, and ensuring compliance with engagement-related policies, standards, and cell finance.
Specific accountabilities include leading client-related finance activities to manage the economics of our client engagements, including accurate fee and utilization recognition, billing, and collections; being accountable to regional finance leaders on performance insights and escalations; managing and optimizing operational performance against KPIs for EEMA, AsiaX and GC regions; fostering a collaborative model with cell finance and other relevant functions on operations and performance; ensuring engagement-related compliance activities, maintaining strong financial controls and adherence to firm finance policies; leading talent acquisition, development, and retention efforts to maintain a high-performing team; contributing significantly to regional and global innovations and process improvements in engagement stewardship processes and reporting; maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders within regions and globally including cell, practices (including USG), RPC, PD, Global Operations, Tax and other regional client finance teams.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or technical qualification preferred (e.g. CPA, CMA, MBA, and/or other relevant certifications)
  • 10+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience within a professional services environment, with a successful track record in client finance operations including deep knowledge of relevant accounting standards (US GAAP)
  • Proven experience in operational leadership, identifying efficiencies, ensuring compliance, and driving performance improvement, while building effective working relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Expertise in financial systems (ideally SAP or other enterprise resource planning platforms) with experience in digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying inefficiencies and designing performance-driven solutions
  • Proven ability to lead and implement change initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and systems through effective stakeholder management
  • Ability to proactively collaborate across stakeholders and teams, acting as strategic partner with a client service orientation
  • A proven leader with experience inspiring and managing high-performing teams. Skilled in attracting, mentoring, and retaining top talent to foster a culture of excellence
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, act as a strategic partner, and influence stakeholders to drive solutions
