More about this Ozow fantastic position
We're on the lookout for a passionate and hands-on DevOps Engineer to join our growing technical team - someone who thrives at the intersection of development and operations and is excited to help us build faster, safer, and smarter. If you love automation, live for clean pipelines, and get a kick out of enabling engineering teams to do their best work, this role was made for you.

Your role and responsibilities

Enablement
  • Guide and support development teams on infrastructure, security, and automation best practices.
  • Act as a trusted enabler - removing blockers and accelerating delivery through smart tooling and process improvements.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, particularly around cloud-native and serverless workloads.
CI/CD & Automation
  • Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity and related tooling.
  • Automate repetitive processes across build, test, and deployment workflows.
  • Drive the team's shift toward infrastructure-as-code and self-service automation.
Infrastructure & Cloud Operations
  • Manage and optimise cloud infrastructure on AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and ECS.
  • Support the migration of workloads toward containerisation using Docker and ECS.
  • Maintain high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency across all environments.
  • Own environment provisioning and configuration management for both Linux and Windows workloads.
Security & Compliance
  • Embed security practices into the software delivery lifecycle (DevSecOps).
  • Monitor infrastructure for vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to fintech regulatory standards.
  • Implement and maintain access controls, secrets management, and audit logging.
Monitoring & Incident Response
  • Set up and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability tooling across production and staging environments.
  • Respond to and lead resolution of infrastructure incidents, conducting post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure uptime and reliability targets are consistently met.
Serverless & Modernisation
  • Champion the ongoing journey toward serverless architectures (AWS Lambda / Azure Functions).
  • Evaluate and recommend tooling improvements that support Ozow's evolving technical roadmap.
  • Collaborate with engineering to modernise legacy infrastructure components incrementally.
Tool Utilisation & Change Management
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on infrastructure, pipelines, and runbooks.
  • Drive adoption of automation and AI-assisted tooling to reduce toil and increase team velocity.
  • Lead or contribute to the rollout of new systems, platforms, and DevOps tooling changes across the team.
You are an ideal candidate if you have
  • An IT diploma or degree (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a DevOps, SysOps, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
  • Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines - specifically TeamCity (Ozow's tool of choice).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and ECS.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration via Kubernetes or ECS.
  • Proficiency in both Linux and Windows server environments.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar).
  • A strong security mindset with experience implementing DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills - you can translate complex infrastructure concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in a high-availability, regulated industry (fintech, banking, or similar) is a bonus.

Your skills and competencies

  • You eagerly embrace change, absorb cross-functional skills, and connect ideas across disciplines to drive fresh thinking and innovation.
  • Ability to initiate, develop, maintain and leverage outstanding relationships to influence a wide network, both inside and outside the company.
  • A trailblazer who steps up, takes charge, and creates meaningful impact—those driven by performance and purpose to lead from the front and make a real difference every day.
  • You thrive in collaboration, embrace inclusion, and bring a genuine curiosity for global cultures—valuing collective success over individual credit.
  • Demonstrate strategic foresight, sound judgement, and the ability to make confident decisions under uncertainty, always working toward the best possible outcomes.
  • You challenge norms, champion innovation, and constantly seek growth—for themselves, their team, and the solutions they build.
  • You are a decisive doer—those who take initiative, follow through with confidence, and ensure results through courageous, hands-on leadership.
  • We value optimism, agility, and the strength to persevere under pressure—balancing performance with positivity, even in challenging environments.
  • You are driven, proactive individuals who take ownership, face challenges with grit, and consistently push for excellence—not just as participants, but as catalysts for success.
