Design Engineer Electrical (Solar)

Role & responsibilities

• Design solar PV systems including plant layout, SLD (Single Line Diagram), cable sizing, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
  
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings and technical documentation for solar projects.
  
• Conduct load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and system optimization.
  
• Work on HT/LT electrical design, inverter selection, transformer sizing, and switchgear specifications.
  
• Coordinate with project execution, procurement, and site teams to ensure design feasibility and implementation.
  
• Ensure designs comply with MNRE guidelines, IEC standards, and local electrical regulations.
  
• Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantity) and technical specifications for solar components.
  
• Support tendering, proposal preparation, and technical evaluations.
  
• Conduct site surveys and technical assessments for solar installations when required.
  
• Assist in troubleshooting and design modifications during project execution.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of Solar PV design principles and electrical systems.
  
• Experience in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope or similar solar design software.
  
• Understanding of grid-connected and off-grid solar systems.
  
• Knowledge of HT/LT electrical systems, protection systems, and switchgear.
  
• Familiarity with MNRE norms, DISCOM regulations, and electrical safety standards.
  
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
