The Deputy Director of Engineering supports the Director of Engineering in managing all engineering and technical operations of the hotel, ensuring that facilities, systems, and equipment are maintained at the highest standards expected in a 5-star property. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety, and guest satisfaction by overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance, energy management, and engineering projects across the hotel’s 131 rooms and public areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Engineering in planning, organizing, and supervising engineering operations across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and hotel infrastructure.

  • Ensure all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building management systems operate reliably and efficiently.

  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and service disruptions.

  • Lead, train, and mentor engineering staff, including technicians and maintenance personnel, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and safety.

  • Oversee engineering projects, renovations, and upgrades, ensuring they meet hotel standards, budget, and timelines.

  • Monitor energy usage and implement cost-effective, sustainable initiatives aligned with Accor’s environmental policies.

  • Maintain compliance with local safety regulations, hotel policies, and Accor brand standards.

  • Collaborate with other hotel departments (housekeeping, operations, F&B) to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.

  • Step in for the Director of Engineering when required, including attending executive meetings and representing the department.

  • Maintain accurate reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and operational expenditures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in engineering management within luxury hotels or similar hospitality environments.

  • Strong knowledge of hotel systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building management systems.

  • Experience in project management, preventive maintenance, and energy management.

  • Familiarity with Accor brand standards and luxury hotel operations preferred.
