Job Description

We are looking for a Delinquency & Recovery Manager to lead the strategy and execution for delinquent account collections and post-default recoveries. You will manage a team of collections associates and a panel of local foreclosure attorneys, driving performance on roll rates, charge-off saves, and recoveries. This role requires a results-oriented leader who ensures collection effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and efficient execution of foreclosure and liquidation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coach collections associates to maximize borrower contact, repayment plans, and settlement outcomes.

  • Manage relationships with external foreclosure attorneys, ensuring timely, compliant, and effective collections or recovery actions on charged-off loans.

  • Monitor portfolio performance, set recovery targets, and implement strategies to improve liquidation timelines and net recoveries.

  • Ensure strict adherence to consumer protection, debt collection, and foreclosure laws, including federal, state, and investor/agency requirements.

  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Servicing partners to strengthen controls, mitigate litigation/reputational risk, and refine collections strategy.

  • Build transparent reporting and insights to senior leadership on DQ metrics, trends, and operational needs.

  • Optimize workflows, vendor oversight, and technology tools to improve efficiency and borrower outcomes.

Qualification

  • 7+ years’ experience in mortgage servicing, collections, or recoveries, with at least 3 years in a unit manager role.

  • Strong knowledge of foreclosure processes, debt collection regulations, and HELOC servicing

  • Proven success managing offshore teams and external vendors/attorneys.
    Analytical and process-driven, with the ability to translate portfolio insights into action.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
