**Your Tasks**

- Assess current data management practices, identify gaps, and help develop an updated, DFG-compliant data governance strategy.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the consortium’s data management workflows, including open-source software development where needed.
- Ensure smooth operation of all workflow components, including SODAR (web GUI, REST API, CLI tools) and its underlying systems (iRODS, ISA metadata model).
- Manage data transfer and access within the consortium, including authorization and permissions.
- Ensure metadata and data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency).
- Maintain a library of sample sheet templates using controlled vocabularies and ontologies, in collaboration with researchers.
- Maintain DFG-compliant SOPs and coordinate training and guidance for researchers.

- Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s + ≥5 years experience) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of modern OMICS datasets and the FAIR principles.
- Experience with data governance, research data management, and compliance.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale scientific data, metadata handling, Unix-like environments, and programming (preferably Python); database skills are a plus.
- Ability to work with and extend an existing code base (Git or similar).
- Understanding of research culture, scientific information management, and Open Science standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; German language skills are an advantage.
