Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Scientist to join our cross-functional team dedicated to understanding and optimizing user engagement, retention, and growth within Apple Maps. You will partner closely with Product and Program teams, leveraging data to inform strategic direction and prioritization. This role offers significant scope to define and build the next generation of metrics and analytical frameworks. We're looking for a creative problem-solver who can innovate within our robust privacy commitments, evolving our current metrics foundation into a comprehensive insights platform. Your day-to-day responsibilities will span the full data lifecycle, from exploratory data analysis and metrics design to conducting deep dives, crafting executive reports and presentations, and building intuitive dashboards.

Minimum Qualifications

MS/PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Operations Research, or similar quantitative domain 2+ years experience with data analysis at web scale or relevant work experience Proficient in Python Proficient in at least one database language (e.g., SQL, Snowflake) Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

Prior industry experience with user engagement analytics and/or causal inference Prior proven industry experience with large data sets using technologies like Hadoop and Spark Experience writing pipelines for automating analytics tasks at scale Experience working in highly cross-functional teams Experience leading projects of varying sizes and scopes
