Role Overview

We are seeking highly capable AI Acceleration Engineers to drive the adoption and industrialisation of AI tooling (GitHub Copilot, prompt engineering, agent workflows) across multiple engineering teams.
This is not a pure development role and not a pure AI research role. It is a hybrid position requiring hands-on AI capability building combined with direct engagement inside Scrum teams to accelerate SDLC productivity using AI.
You will work alongside Microsoft AI specialists to build prompts, agents and workflows — while also embedding within engineering squads to ensure AI tooling is used effectively, correctly, and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI Tooling & Agent Development
    •    Design and refine advanced prompts for GitHub Copilot and LLM-based workflows
    •    Build AI agents and automation workflows to accelerate development tasks
    •    Optimise context window management, plan mode vs agent mode usage, and prompt structuring
    •    Collaborate directly with Microsoft AI engineers to enhance tooling capabilities
    •    Rapidly prototype and iterate AI-driven SDLC accelerators
  • AI Adoption & Engineering Enablement
    •    Embed within multiple Scrum teams to review AI-generated code and specifications
    •    Challenge and improve prompt usage and drive best practice adoption
    •    Coach engineers in effective AI-assisted development
    •    Identify gaps in AI outputs and improve workflows accordingly
    •    Influence cultural change in AI adoption across global teams

Required Skills & Experience

  • Deep hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot (plan mode and agent mode)
  • Strong prompt engineering capability for code and documentation generation
  • Experience designing AI-driven workflows or agent-based automation
  • Strong understanding of LLM behaviour, context handling and output optimisation
  • Experience improving developer productivity using AI tools
  • Strong software engineering foundation (Python, SQL or equivalent
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Comfortable reviewing and challenging production-grade code
  • Experience working with distributed global engineering teams
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric
  • Familiarity with Azure ecosystem
  • Exposure to Cosmos DB
  • Understanding of data engineering pipelines
    Experience Level
  • 5 –15+ years overall engineering experience
  • Demonstrable seniority influencing engineering teams
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale environments
  • Strong communication skills with confidence to challenge established teams
