Data Privacy Specialist (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities:
- Support of EU Data Protection Officer in context of its duties
- FME Germany business partner for all data protection related enquiries;
- Conduct and maintain relevant records of processing activities (including supporting business in completing respective questionnaires) for Workers Council relevant processes.
- Give advice and recommendations about the interpretation or application of GDPR.
- Monitor compliance of FME with applicable Privacy laws, including audits of clinics or other business units within the EU (on-site/remote), the assignment of responsibilities
- Awareness-raising activities as well as training of staff involved in processing operations.
- Support in communication with data protection authorities and answering requests of data subjects (such as employees, patient etc.)
- Assists the Data Protection Officer Germany with internal and external audits and inspections, requests for access and correction of personal data or complaints;
- Contract review, drafting and negotiation with focus on privacy law;
- Co-ordinates relevant legal issues, in particular data privacy and cybersecurity matters with outside legal counsel, managing and supervising and instructing outside counsel;
- Supports compliance with Fresenius Medical Care’s corporate guidelines, compliance and governance policies and implements supporting processes; controls together with local and EMEA compliance department as well as EMEA legal team;
- Interfaces with EMEA Compliance department to ensure alignment in different strategies;
- Identifies potential risks and initiates appropriate (preventive) mitigating actions, provides practical data privacy-related solutions to reduce data privacy-related risks, taking into consideration internal and external implications and / or supports their implementation;
- Provides training on data privacy topics on a regular and ad hoc basis and tracks participations;
Your Profile:
- Law degree required
- Meets local license requirements, admission to German bar association (or Syndikusrechtsanwalt) preferred.
- 3+ years post-qualification experience in Data Protection in Germany
- Advanced skills and experience in negotiating and advising on complex or high value/risk matters or in specific practice areas.
- Excellent knowledge of corporate laws, commercial laws, contract laws and further business related laws and regulations.
- Good understanding of business and tax relates facts and economic and financial skills, especially balance sheets, P&L, value chains and cash-flows.
- High degree of integrity, confidentiality, trust and accountability
- Ability to maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance and accountability when advising the business
- Ability to translate a wide variety of principles and complex legal requirements into actionable solutions for the business
- Excellent organizational, facilitation, communication and presentation skills
- Global mindset and preparedness to incorporate global standards and practices
- Ability to work autonomously, yet a team player
