Data Governance Specialist

What you will do


  • Assess existing data governance frameworks, documentation, and control environments and identify gaps against regulatory and enterprise governance expectations.

  • Design Data Governance Target Operating Models, including governance structures, roles, and decision processes.

  • Develop and structure governance artefacts, such as policies, standards, governance registers, and control documentation.

  • Define practical governance processes for data quality, metadata management, access control, and lifecycle management.

  • Work with data architects and engineering teams to align governance practices with enterprise data platforms.

  • Collaborate with compliance, risk, and data protection teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical governance controls.

  • Support the rollout and operational adoption of governance frameworks across business domains.

Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Strategy in large enterprise environments or consulting.

  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, or COBIT.

  • Experience designing or implementing data governance operating models, including data ownership, stewardship, and RACI structures.

  • Experience developing governance documentation such as policies, standards, and control descriptions.

  • Understanding of governance topics such as data quality, metadata management, lineage, classification, and lifecycle management.

  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms (data warehouse, lakehouse, or cloud data platforms).

  • Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to work with business, technical, and compliance teams.

  • English B2+.

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Experience with governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, Atlan, or Microsoft Purview.

  • Experience working with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP data platforms.

  • Experience in regulated industries (Finance, Insurance, or similar).


  • Certifications such as CDMP, CIPP/E, CISA, or PMP.
