As a newly created role and reporting to the General Manager, Weld Range , you will play a key part in setting up the operation, preparing for commissioning of the Crusher, and building the team. This newly created role will focus on establishing the operation through the build and commissioning phase, including plant readiness and team development.

Once commissioning is complete, the role transitions into full operational leadership of the crushing plant, with accountability for safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance. This includes overseeing production, maintenance, safety, and personnel to ensure consistent output, product quality, equipment reliability, and full compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities 

Plant Operations & Production

  • Lead day-to-day crushing operations to meet safe production targets
  • Optimise plant performance, throughput, and product quality
  • Manage feed, stockpiles, and product dispatch
  • Drive uptime through effective planning and coordination

Safety & Compliance

  • Lead site safety systems and ensure compliance with WHS and regulatory requirements
  • Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and participation in site safety processes
  • Support incident reporting and investigations

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable plant operation
  • Support shutdown planning, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance
  • Ensure availability of critical spares and plant readiness

Quality & Performance

  • Ensure product quality meets specification requirements
  • Monitor key KPIs including throughput, availability, and cost per tonne
  • Support continuous improvement and process optimisation

Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and develop operational teams
  • Work closely with mining, maintenance, and logistics teams to deliver production outcomes
  • Support planning and operational improvement initiatives

Essential

  • Proven experience managing crushing and screening plants in quarrying or mining
  • Strong knowledge of fixed and/or mobile crushing circuits
  • Demonstrated leadership in safety and operational performance
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of plant reliability

Preferred

  • Trade qualification, engineering diploma, or tertiary qualification in mining/operations
