Course Development Lead - Higher Education

Melbourne, Victoria, au February 25, 2026

This role manages higher education courses as strategic products. You’ll take ownership from academic design and development through governance approval, launch and formal review; ensuring quality, regulatory compliance and strong student outcomes within a higher education environment.

Working closely with higher education academics, industry advisors and senior leaders, you’ll keep our portfolio relevant, rigorous and aligned to market demand. As Secretary to Higher Education Course Advisory Committees (CACs), you’ll ensure industry insight is translated into approved and implemented course improvements.

The Role

You will:

  • Own the higher education course roadmap, aligned to institutional strategy and sector requirements
  • Lead new higher education course development, renewals and major enhancements
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of higher education course projects across stakeholders and stage-gates
  • Prepare governance submissions and manage approvals through Higher Education committees and Academic Board
  • Oversee Course Advisory Committee operations and convert recommendations into formal higher education course changes
  • Drive structured course review cycles using student outcomes, progression data and feedback
  • Ensure approved changes are accurately implemented across LMS, documentation and delivery

About You

You’re organised, commercially aware and confident operating in a higher education setting. You can move between strategic portfolio thinking and detailed academic documentation with ease.

You understand higher education governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement and you know how to navigate committee processes while keeping projects moving.

You bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Strong understanding of the Australian higher education quality frameworks and standards
  • Demonstrated experience leading higher education course/curriculum development or education product management.
  • Experience in higher education course/curriculum development or education product management
  • Strong project management across academic and professional stakeholders
  • Experience preparing higher education governance papers and navigating Academic Board approvals
  • Excellent written communication and document control capability
  • Strong data literacy, with the ability to translate higher education performance data into action
  • Familiarity with Australian higher education quality frameworks (highly regarded)
