The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to lead the development and coordination of a brand-new Social Work program. As Course Coordinator, you’ll be the driving force behind program excellence — shaping curriculum, building strong staff and student engagement, and ensuring compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards.

Your leadership, vision, and passion for social work education will foster a collaborative academic environment and help shape the next generation of social workers.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design & Deliver – Develop new courses and contribute to innovative research initiatives.
  • Build Quality – Lead articulation arrangements, benchmarking, and moderation processes.
  • Inspire & Mentor – Coordinate scholarly activities, staff development, and academic leadership.
  • Ensure Excellence – Assist in annual internal audits and contribute to policy renewal.
  • Shape Student Experience – Monitor student progress, provide guidance, and champion success.
  • Lead Operations – Conduct staff performance reviews and provide input on academic resources.
  • Collaborate Broadly – Work with the Dean on marketing, finance, admissions, and alumni initiatives.
  • Promote Impact – Participate in student events, graduation ceremonies, and program marketing.

About You

You’ll bring both academic expertise and leadership experience, along with a passion for social work education.

  • Qualifications: Doctorate in Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in academic leadership and teaching at degree and/or postgraduate level.
  • Professional Development: Commitment to lifelong learning (20 hours PD annually provided).
  • Eligibility: Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
