Ensuring accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, WIP, AR, AP, payroll, and inventoryEnforcing financial policies, approval limits, and internal controlsEnsuring compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligationsManaging cash inflows and outflows to avoid shortages or surprisesActively managing AR collections, AP timing, and working capitalProviding forward-looking cash visibility to ownershipAccurate job costing and labor burden allocationProper WIP tracking and revenue recognitionIdentification and escalation of margin leakageLeading annual budget developmentProducing rolling forecasts and scenario modelsMonitoring budget vs. actual performance monthlyMonthly Financial Review (MFR) preparation and leadership facilitationEarly identification of financial risks or deviationsReducing reactive financial questions through proactive reportingTraining, cross-training, and succession coverage for accounting teamConsistent execution of finance processesQualifications
Minimum 10 years progressive finance or accounting leadership experienceConstruction, plumbing, HVAC, or project-based business experience strongly preferredBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (required)CPA, CMA, or equivalent credential (strongly preferred)Job costing and WIP accountingCash flow and working capital managementBudgeting and financial controls in growth environmentsHigh attention to detail with executive-level judgmentAbility to enforce discipline without micromanagementClear financial communication to non-financial leaders
