Aetna is seeking a dynamic and strategic Contracting Senior Manager to join our National Clinical Vendor Solutions team. The Senior Manager is responsible for supporting vendor management contracting activities that advance growth, innovation and growth while aligning with enterprise priorities. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
You will make an impact by:
- Strategic Planning: Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of contracting opportunities with clinical vendors aligned to enterprise and line‑of‑business strategies. Contribute market insights, competitive analysis, and specialty expertise to inform contracting and growth strategies.
- Vendor Relationship Support: Support day‑to‑day relationship management with clinical vendor partners, collaborating to execute contracts, pilots, and initiatives that support growth and innovation. Partner with senior leaders to prepare materials and analyses that support strategic vendor discussions.
- Contract Execution and Support: Support execution of the vendor contract lifecycle, including deal development, contract drafting support, amendments, and renewals. Coordinate cross‑functional activities to ensure contracts are operationally ready and effectively implemented.
- Partner with Network, Line of Business Segments, Clinical, and Operations teams to support timely deployment, implementation, and monitoring of contracts and pilots.
- Collaborate with finance, analytics, and actuarial teams to develop, validate, and enhance financial models that support value-based care arrangements. Translate financial assumptions into contract terms and support negotiations aligned to approved models.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify and escalate financial, operational, regulatory, and compliance risks associated with vendor arrangements. Partner with legal, compliance, and finance teams to support risk mitigation and issue resolution.
- Internal Collaboration and Communication: Act as a liaison across product, analytics, operations, reimbursement, and clinical teams to support alignment and execution. Translate complex financial and operational concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of contracting experience required, preferably in Vendor, Payer and/or Provider Value based care.
- Exposure and experience in supporting strategic planning and contracting strategies.
- Ability to support cross‑functional initiatives to drive results.
- Experience supporting complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives, including contract implementation, operational readiness, and performance oversight.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with risk‑based financial models, ROI analysis, and translating financial assumptions into executable contract terms.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to educate, align, and engage stakeholders and external partners.
- Experience operating in regulated environments, with working knowledge of healthcare regulatory, compliance, and governance requirements.
- If resides with distance of Hartford, CT- work will be remote/hybrid
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$67,900.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
