Consulting - Risk Analytics - Senior Consultant

Midrand, GP, za April 21, 2026 Full Time Workday

As a Senior Consultant in our Regulatory Technology & Data (RTD) Offering, you will play a key role in enabling clients to derive meaningful insights from complex regulatory, risk, and business data. The role focuses on applying advanced analytics, reporting, and visualisation capabilities to transform regulatory and operational data into actionable intelligence that supports decision-making, regulatory compliance, and strategic outcomes.

The role requires a Business Analyst with strong experience in end-to-end analytics delivery, including problem definition, requirements translation, data interpretation, and insight communication. You will work across business, risk, compliance, and technology stakeholders to translate regulatory and analytical requirements into clear use cases, analytics specifications, performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting outputs. This includes defining analytical logic, KPIs, and data-driven narratives that enable clients to monitor risk, identify trends, and improve regulatory and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements & analysis: Elicit, analyse, validate, and document business, regulatory, and data requirements; define scope, assumptions, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Process mapping & controls: Map current-state and future-state processes (including controls, handoffs, and data lineage) and identify automation/standardisation opportunities.
  • Functional specifications: Produce clear functional specs and user stories (with examples, edge cases, and testable outcomes) for data pipelines, analytics products, and RegTech solutions.
  • Data management: Define data elements, business definitions, metadata, data quality rules, reconciliation checks, and reference/master data needs; support data governance practices.
  • End-to-end analytics delivery: Partner with data engineering and BI teams across ingestion, transformation, modelling, and semantic layer design to ensure requirements are implemented correctly.
  • Visualisations & insights: Design dashboards and reports that are regulatory-audit friendly (clear definitions, drill-through logic, and traceability) and enable decision-making.
  • Testing & release: Support SIT/UAT planning, test case design, defect triage, and release readiness; ensure requirements traceability from intake to deployment.
  • Stakeholder management: Facilitate workshops, backlog refinement, and prioritisation across Compliance, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Technology.
  • Documentation & operationalisation: Maintain artefacts such as data dictionaries, KPI catalogues, dashboard user guides, runbooks, and change logs.
  • Continuous improvement: Track benefits, adoption, and data quality metrics; recommend enhancements based on user feedback and regulatory change.

Be careful of Recruitment Scams: Fraudsters or employment scammers often pose as legitimate recruiters, employers, recruitment consultants or job placement firms, advertising false job opportunities through email, text messages and WhatsApp messages. They aim to cheat jobseekers out of money or to steal personal information.

To help you look out for potential recruitment scams, here are some Red Flags:

    • Upfront Payment Requests: Deloitte will never ask for any upfront payment for background checks, job training, or supplies.
    • Requests for Personal Information: Be wary if you are asked for sensitive personal information, especially early in the recruitment process and without a clear need for it. Fraudulent links or contractual documents may require the provision of sensitive personal data or copy documents (e.g., government issued numbers or identity documents, passports or passport numbers, bank account statements or numbers, parent’s data) that may be used for identity fraud. Do not provide or send any of these documents or data. Please note we will never ask for photographs at any stage of the recruitment process.
    • Unprofessional Communication: Scammers may communicate in an unprofessional manner. Their messages may be filled with poor grammar and spelling errors. The look and feel may not be consistent with the Deloitte corporate brand.

If you're unsure, make direct contact with Deloitte using our official contact details. Be careful not to use any contact details provided in the suspicious job advertisement or email.
