Role Brief:
We are looking for a Consulting Director - Payments Modernization & Orchestration (Banking) with deep expertise in wholesale payments, payment orchestration, and modernization programs within large global banks. This leader will drive greenfield solutioning, architect payment platform convergence strategies, and partner with bank stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and data.
This role requires someone who can both shape multi-million-dollar pursuits and roll up sleeves inside programs as a product or program lead.

We are looking for a Consulting Director - Payments Modernization & Orchestration (Banking) with deep expertise in wholesale payments, payment orchestration, and modernization programs within large global banks. This leader will drive greenfield solutioning, architect payment platform convergence strategies, and partner with bank stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and data.
This role requires someone who can both shape multi-million-dollar pursuits and roll up sleeves inside programs as a product or program lead.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead ideation for new payment transformation pursuits (platform convergence, orchestration, modernization).
  • Design greenfield payments architectures (shared chassis + rail adapters).
  • Articulate future-state models for payments platform convergence, investigations & exception automation data-driven treasury intelligence, AI-enabled payment decisioning.
  • Define orchestration patterns across ACH, Wire, RTP, Cards, Trade.
  • Embed AI capabilities (routing, anomaly detection, case triage) into payment flows.
  • Improve client & operations experience across payment lifecycle.
    Design payment data products (transaction intelligence, liquidity insights, risk scoring).
  • Enable API-first and event-driven data architectures.
  • Shape monetizable payment intelligence offerings.
  • Step into product/program manager roles when needed.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional transformation programs.
  • Manage C-suite and engineering stakeholders.
  • Navigate regulatory modernization of drivers (e.g., ISO standards, BCBS-driven controls).

    • Job Requirements:

  • 12+ years in consulting; must have Payments domain depth.
  • Experience working with large banks (e.g., JPMorgan Chase, Citi, BofA, Wells Fargo).
  • Strong understanding of payment rails & protocols, orchestration platforms, core payment modernization, payment data models, Treasury Services
  • Demonstrated success in pursuit leadership, executive storytelling, building business cases
  • Comfortable operating between strategy and execution.
  • Strong AI literacy (agentic orchestration, ML decisioning in operations).
