What impact you’ll make
As a Competitiveness Operational Leader in Grid Automation, you will drive sustainable margin growth and operational excellence. You'll partner with leaders across Regions, R&D, Global Supply Chain, Product Lines, Sourcing, Lean, and more to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-impact cost and productivity initiatives that improve project execution, product margin expansion, and overall business performance.
The Competitiveness and Transformation function accelerates value creation by focusing on:
- Execution and operational efficiency — faster, leaner project/service delivery and major factory productivity gains
- Product and portfolio cost leadership — targeted optimization across solutions, software, and hardware through value engineering, should-cost modelling, and competitive teardowns
- Sourcing and supply chain deflation — consistent cost reductions and strategic supplier value capture
- Transformational change — high-impact programs that reshape cost structures and capabilities, while maintaining strict alignment with customer/shareholder priorities and Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)
What you’ll do
- Partnering closely with the Grid Automation Competitiveness leader to deploy and execute cross-functional competitiveness strategies and priorities across the Grid Automation organization.
- Developing robust financial models—including sensitivity analysis—and capacity planning tools to provide clear, data-driven guidance for high-stakes strategic decisions.
- Collaborating with the Grid Automation Operations team to align initiatives with business line vision, goals, and performance targets.
- Building and presenting compelling business cases that quantify trade-offs in ROI, capex, capacity utilization, risk, efficiency, resiliency, and flow—leveraging system optimization thinking to inform executive decisions.
- Leading or supporting program and project management efforts as needed to execute Grid Automation's strategic cost-out initiatives and deliver measurable savings.
- Establishing and continuously improving the Competitiveness team's standard work, strategy frameworks, and performance tools through rigorous data collection, analysis, and closed-loop feedback with cross-functional partners.
- Championing and embedding the GE Vernova Way—driving innovation, customer focus, lean mindset, One Team collaboration, and accountability—into all function practices and ways of working.
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College in Engineering, Finance or Business Administration
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant Project Management, Cost-Out, Finance or Lean experience
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and working with and presenting to stakeholders at senior level.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills.
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills, attention to details and real interest in exploring to make informative data driven decisions.
- Transformational change leader, who excels in change management.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to balance thought leadership, continuous learning, and improvement with demonstrated results.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to ~50% of the time.
- Excellent communication (oral/written) experience, working and influencing cross-culturally in large, matrixed organizations.
