Job Title: Compassionate Caregiver for Woman with Dementia
Location: Meadowbrook, PA
Schedule: Part-Time to Start (10am–8pm), Transitioning to Full-Time | Potential for Live-In Role
Salary: $35 to $40/hour DOE
We are seeking a compassionate and emotionally intelligent caregiver to support a 79-year-old widow living alone in Meadowbrook, PA. She is currently in the mid-stage of dementia and experiences notable short-term memory loss and repetitive behaviors. The ideal candidate will be warm, patient, respectful, and capable of offering gentle guidance while honoring her independence and dignity.
About the Role:
Initially part-time (10am–8pm), this position has the potential to grow into a full-time and possibly live-in role. Flexibility for occasional overnight coverage in the future is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide companionship and emotional support throughout the day

Offer gentle reminders for medications, meals, and personal hygiene

Prepare simple, nourishing meals

Assist with light housekeeping tasks

Engage in respectful redirection when managing repetitive conversations or minor resistance

Encourage autonomy while maintaining a safe and structured environment

Patient, upbeat, and conversational, with a gentle sense of humor

Skilled at setting boundaries without being confrontational or directive

Preferred Experience:

Experience working with clients who have dementia, particularly in mid-stages with cognitive decline and behavioral patterns
