Please contact [email protected] About the Downland Hybrid Pharmacy Downland Practice is a thriving rural GP practice covering 140 square miles of the Berkshire Downs. Our main site, with an attached Hybrid Pharmacy, is located just 5 minutes from the A34/M4 Chieveley junction in a spacious, purpose-built surgery and pharmacy. We also have a branch surgery 15 minutes away in the picturesque village of Compton, featuring a newly refurbished dispensary, consulting rooms, and office space. Our practice dispenses to over 80% of our 11,500 patients, issuing around 14,000 items per month, with a further 2,800 items per month dispensed to non-dispensing patients and those from further afield who choose our service. OTC and P-line products are available at our main site in Chieveley. Covering such a large rural area, it is vital that we continue to provide accessible medication services - there is no other pharmacy within 140 square miles. As a Hybrid Pharmacy, we offer comprehensive care to our patients, including blood pressure monitoring and New Medicine Services (NMS) at our main site, with the possibility to extend these services to our branch surgery. We maintain excellent relationships with local care facilities and schools, supplying acute medications, OTC products, and P-lines. Our pharmacy also delivers Pharmacy First, Hypertension, and Contraception services, with strong uptake from both our patients and the wider community. We are excited to be launching a Travel Service and expanding our private pharmacy offerings. Our patients are very supportive, and we pride ourselves on being a positive and collaborative work environment. ________________________________________ ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION M.Pharm or equivalent Qualified and Registered Pharmacist with GPhC Solid understanding of Pharmacy Laws and Regulations Knowledge of NHS pharmacy funding and strategies to achieve targets Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload Strong communication skills and clinical assessment within Pharmacy Services Proficient in using PharmaOutcomes, PQS, and monthly reporting Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Desirable Minimum 1 year post-registration experience Management experience, training, or qualifications Independent Prescribing qualification This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
