Collaborating Psychiatrist

Third Space Therapy combines the independence of private practice with the support of a group setting, focused on expanding Medicaid-covered behavioral healthcare.

We’re looking for passionate fully licensed Psychiatrists to serve as Collaborating / Supervising Physicians for our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs). This is a flexible, primarily non-clinical role focused on oversight, collaboration, and quality assurance within a fully remote care model serving Medicaid populations.

What you’ll need

  • Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in Virginia

  • Board certification in Psychiatry (ABPN or equivalent)

  • Working knowledge of collaborative practice requirements for PMHNPs

  • Experience treating diverse psychiatric conditions across the lifespan

  • Comfort with telehealth models, EHR-based chart review, and remote communication tools

What you'll do

  • Provide required physician collaboration/supervision to assigned PMHNPs

  • Conduct regular chart reviews to ensure clinical quality, appropriate prescribing, and documentation integrity

  • Meet weekly with PMHNPs to discuss complex cases, diagnostic questions, and treatment planning

  • Provide real-time and asynchronous consultation on challenging or escalating patient presentations

  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols, prescribing guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives
