The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to manufacture and repair precision components used in food processing and packaging equipment. This role ensures all machined parts meet strict quality, safety, and sanitary standards required in a food manufacturing environment.

Hours: First shift 6:30am-3pm with OT available (every other Saturday 6am-12pm)

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment to produce precision parts
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements
  • Program and edit CNC code (G-code) as needed to optimize performance and accuracy
  • Machine components used in food processing equipment, ensuring compliance with sanitary design standards
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment
  • Select appropriate materials (e.g., stainless steel, food-grade plastics) for food-safe applications
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with food safety and GMP standards
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to support equipment reliability
  • Document production activities, measurements, and quality checks
