The Cloud Solution Architect is a senior technical leader within Digital Infrastructure and Operations, responsible for defining and governing the enterprise cloud and infrastructure architecture
The role ensures solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with business objectives and global Information Systems (IS) standards, while providing strategic guidance on cloud and infrastructure technologies
The architect is accountable for the availability, performance, security, and lifecycle management of infrastructure services, and plays a key role in enabling digital transformation
In collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, they define infrastructure standards, deliver technical designs, enforce architectural governance, and contribute to the infrastructure strategy and roadmap

Architecture Accountabilities
Define and govern cloud and infrastructure architecture across the solution lifecycle, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and global IS standards
Own infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and roadmaps; evaluate business requirements, emerging technologies, and solution options (RFPs/POCs) in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture
Act as senior technical advisor and escalation point, engaging stakeholders, vendors, and Architecture Review Boards to ensure scalable, compliant, and cost-effective solutions
Build Accountabilities
Design and deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure and application architectures aligned with approved enterprise standards
Translate business and technical requirements into target architectures, supporting both business initiatives and foundational system layers
Assess technical risks and total cost of ownership (TCO), providing mitigation strategies and expert recommendations throughout the project lifecycle
Run Accountabilities
Ensure deployed solutions remain fit-for-purpose through ongoing review of performance, security, cost efficiency, and compliance
Provide expert support for complex incidents and non-standard changes, ensuring alignment with the global digital infrastructure strategy
Contribute to lifecycle, obsolescence, and capability planning through CMDB governance, roadmap inputs, and future skills recommendations

Key responsibilities related to Cloud infrastructure
Architecture & Design
Define and govern the enterprise cloud architecture roadmap, delivering secure, scalable hybrid and multi-cloud designs supported by reference architectures and standardized patterns
Implementation & Integration
Lead and oversee cloud implementation and migration initiatives, ensuring automated provisioning, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD enablement, and seamless integration with on-premises systems
Governance & Security
Establish and enforce cloud governance and security frameworks covering cost management, identity and access, data protection, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations
Performance & Optimization
Drive cloud performance, resilience, and cost optimization through continuous monitoring, capacity planning, disaster recovery design, and spend optimization strategies
Leadership & Collaboration
Act as a trusted cloud advisor to leadership, mentoring technical teams and partnering with vendors to evaluate and adopt modern cloud technologies

Expertise in AWS cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure as a plus), including cloud-native architectures (microservices, containers, serverless)
Advanced proficiency in CI/CD and DevOps toolchains (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform), automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell), and containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong foundation in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), Windows/Linux, networking (VPN, VPC, DNS, Load Balancing), IAM, SSO, MFA, monitoring tools (Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch), and Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, SQL DB, Active Directory)

AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
TOGAF, ITIL, or similar enterprise architecture frameworks certification
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert is a plus
Fluency in English (reading, written, spoken)
