Job Summary
The Clinical Applications Specialist I is an entry-level professional in clinical application help. This role shows skill in clinical application help or operations. Develops expertise in application functionality, reporting, interfacing, and integration for assigned clinical applications.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Application implementation, system integration, system configuration, system customization, upgrades/updates, user training, user access, high availability, and other duties as assigned.
- Maintains changes to referential data, across clinical applications assigned.
- Reviews monthly clinical updates and keeps application data current with industry standards.
- Helps implement new application features, like interfaces, by defining clinical requirements, testing, and developing workflows.
- Tests new and existing functionality prior to application upgrades and releases.
- Configures application for the setup of the new location and users.
- Works with other clinical application help team members to resolve user problem tickets and diagnose application errors.
- Assists with data clean-up and pre-loading efforts in the clinical application.
- Researches patient data in multiple applications to resolve discrepancy errors in clinical and demographic areas.
- Assist in the development and management of both annual (FY) and long-term financial plans.
- Develop clear, concise, and data-driven presentations for leadership. Translate complex financial information into actionable insights that support informed decision-making at the executive level.
- Monitor budget performance and spending trends to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities. Synthesize findings into meaningful insights and proactively communicate recommendations to leadership.
- Support the improvement and streamlining of purchase order (PO) and invoicing processes. Enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency for team members while ensuring compliance with internal policies.
Key Success Factors
- Clinical IT experience helping clinical application or working as a super user in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of associated workflows and how the application(s) integrate with the clinical environment is preferred.
- Self-starter able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effectively communicates with non-technical users to resolve problems and errors in the clinical application.
