Clearance Broker
Role & responsibilities
- Manage clearance and brokerage operations for cross-border shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company standards.
- Provide brokerage administrative services including documentation review, data entry, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver exceptional clearance customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Handle cage operations for secure and compliant management of sensitive shipment documents.
- Support supply chain solutions and engineering initiatives to optimize clearance processes and improve efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to clearance regulatory requirements for import and export activities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Execute customs clearance processes including export filing, import filing, shipping bill (SB) filing, and bill of entry (BOE) filing.
- Perform customs filing for CHA (Customs House Agent) operations, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of documentation.
- Manage cross-border clearance activities both face-to-face and online, ensuring smooth and compliant transactions.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation for all clearance activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal and external standards.
Preferred candidate profile
- Have relevant experience in the field of logistics/freight with an overall working stint for a period of 3 to 4 years.
- Have experience with Export filing, Import filing, BOE filing, SB filing, shipping bill filing, Bill of entry filing, customs filing etc.
- Identify and resolve anomalies using judgment based on established rules and procedures to maintain operational integrity.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and PC skills for reporting, documentation, and communication; maintain strong numerical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Communicate effectively through clear written and verbal communication, ensuring accurate information flow across teams and customers.
