About the Team

The Pharmacy Product Strategy & Development team provides leadership and strategic direction to support the development of new solutions tied to the Express Scripts Home Delivery Pharmacies. This includes identifying client needs across multiple lines of business (commercial, health plan, Cigna, Medicare), developing concepts, creating & evaluating business cases, and designing new solutions. This team operates in a fast-paced environment with significant opportunities to collaborate with multiple functions and businesses within Express Scripts and Evernorth businesses.

Position Overview

The Product Strategy Senior Advisor will have the opportunity to independently drive initiatives that grow profitable volume and enhance the customer and client experience with Express Scripts and EnGuide Pharmacies. The Senior Advisor will be responsible for helping to identify new solutions, evaluate their feasibility, and develop business cases. The role will be a hybrid of Business Development and Product Strategy and Development - supporting all aspects of development, including market assessment, pricing strategy, business and technology requirements, benefit/plan design, care management/service model, and product positioning.

Essential Functions

  • Understanding the market by researching market trends, identifying customer demands, defining unmet needs & jobs-to-be-done, and generating & analyzing customer feedback
  • Partnering with other product teams across Evernorth to build coordinated solutions, working in cross functional teams to explore and enable new product concepts
  • Scoping, sizing, and creating business cases by articulating strategy, identifying levers to monetize solutions, sizing opportunities, and analyzing feasibility
  • Influence and enable sales channels to support strategic growth objectives
  • Identify, evaluate, and advance partnership opportunities; coordinate workstreams and synthesize findings into executive-ready recommendations
  • Leveraging reporting tools to extract and analyze formularies, drug lists, clinical data, and financial models, including the Analyst tool
  • Performing analysis of claims utilization and volume, including margin, trend, indications, drug level market share, channel management, patient behavior, benchmarking, key performance indicators, etc.
  • Translating data into insights by identifying solutions, identifying needs gaps, designing product features, and creating concepts & prototypes
  • Creating visualization of insights, using graphs, charts, reporting and other visualization tools
  • Project managing initiatives to ensure milestones are hit and solutions are delivered on schedule

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of healthcare/PBM experience in product, business development, strategy, and/or client service role
  • Proven experience leading product development efforts across the full lifecycle, from discovery and requirements through delivery and launch
  • Strong financial skills including understanding of pharmacy and product economics to support sales growth
  • The ability to influence decision makers across the enterprise including senior leaders   
  • A self-directed ability to use proper judgment to plan, prioritize, and accomplish goals
  • Highly effective cross-functional collaboration to drive process, strategy and outcomes
  • Experience using project management techniques and leading multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with a diverse stakeholder group 
  • Ability to understand, translate, and incorporate competitive intelligence into strategy
  • Understanding of how product development and design influences technology
  • Proven capability to manage ambiguity and guide teams through complex or evolving product requirements
  • Understanding of PBM technology systems is a plus
  • Client/Consultant facing experience preferred
  • BA/BS highly desired; Master’s degree preferred
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
