How you’ll make an impact in this role
- Provide religious and spiritual care and counsel to patients, families, and associates, respecting diverse spiritual orientations and cultures.
- Perform sacraments, rituals, blessings, and liturgies to support local ministry and community.
- Collaborate in holistic patient care and build meaningful relationships through regular visitations and communication.
- Mentor Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students and fellows.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Board Certification from the ACPE, APC, NACC, CASC, or the NAJC at time of hire or job transfer (or obtained within two years of hire or job transfer; risking termination if not obtained within
timeframe) is required. For those not board certified at time of hire or job transfer,
ecclesiastical endorsement is required.
Education:
- Master's degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field from an accredited school is required. 3 units of CPE accredited by the ACPE is required only if not board-certified. 4 units of accredited CPE are preferred.
Work Experience:
- 3-5 years of healthcare experience as a chaplain is preferred.
What additional preferences we're seeking
Candidates must be a Board Certified Chaplain through APC, NACC, or NAJC, or board certified-eligible with 4 units of CPE at time of hire. Board Certification will be required by the end of two years from hire date if not completed by date of hire. Behavioral Health chaplaincy experience is preferred, along with other specialized care such as groups and pulmonary or cardiac rehab.
This position is a daytime shift position with regular hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position does also have the expectation of weeknight on-call as part of a shared rotation with staff and PRN chaplains.
