JOB TITLE: Summer Camp Counselor        

DIVISION: Recreational Services 

REPORTS TO:  Summer Camp Supervisor 

LOCATION: Moonbeam Base Area 

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/ Part-Time/ Seasonal/ Hourly 

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: Late-May through mid-August 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Provide an exceptional experience for Summer Camp children ages 6 to 14. Create a safe and fun environment while working as part of a team. Safely operate adventure park activities. Pay depends on experience ranging from $18.65-21.25/hr. 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be 18+ years of age 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience (or equivalent) in a summer camp setting preferred.  

  • CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, and/or AED Certification preferred. 

  • Confidence in instructing groups, enforcing procedures, and managing unexpected circumstances. 

  • Must have a strong understanding of teamwork and effective communication with peers and supervisors. 

  • Ability to pass a background check and maintain a clean driving record. 

  • Able to work and hike outdoors in varying weather conditions.  

  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs., with extended periods of standing, bending, and twisting. 

 

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Available for shifts from 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM, including holidays and weekends. 

  • Responsible for monitoring your work schedule and arriving on time. Notify your supervisor of any anticipated time off or absences with as much advance notice as possible. 

  • Supervise children in the pool and lead groups on hikes. 

  • Organize games and events appropriate for children's age groups. 

  • Complete projects and tasks quickly and efficiently in collaboration with other counselors and staff. 

  • Complete necessary company training for summer camp and adventure park activities. 

  • Interact with staff and guests in a positive, professional manner. 

  • Communicate any suggestions or concerns to leadership in a timely manner. 

  • Support and follow Solitude Mountain Resort policies and procedures. 

  • Ensure the safety of campers at all times while in the camp’s care. 

  • Operate a company vehicle to transport campers up and down the canyon. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
