Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for a Buyer 1 to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI.

In this role, you’ll manage a defined set of commodities by supporting sourcing initiatives, cost‑reduction efforts, and data‑driven recommendations in partnership with buyers, managers, and subject‑matter experts. You’ll track and report progress, validate system data, coordinate with internal teams and suppliers, and prepare accurate, timely presentations to support strategic decisions.

A Day in the Life:

  • Negotiates and establishes commodity pricing; develops and executes strategic sourcing plans to support cost‑reduction goals.

  • Evaluates and compares suppliers to recommend the most competitive sourcing options based on cost, quality, and requirements.

  • Partners with engineers, end users, and stakeholders to understand commodity specifications and business needs.

  • Plans, implements, tracks, and validates cost‑reduction initiatives and manages cost changes in collaboration with leadership.

  • Establishes and manages contracts, purchase orders, and purchasing records; coordinates cross‑functional and supplier activities to ensure compliance and issue resolution.

  • Maintains accurate purchasing data and reporting, analyzes progress toward department goals, and initiates mitigation actions as needed.

Who We’re Looking for:

Required:

  • 0-2 years of related experience in a professional business atmosphere.  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business major (i.e. Finance, SCM, Marketing) or related discipline (i.e. Engineering).

  • Essential Skills: MS Excel experience including VLOOKUPs/Pivot Tables.

Desired:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with aspirations towards leadership positions in an international corporation.

  • Candidates should be self-starters with strong intuitive skills to take ownership of issues with ability to find resolution to complicated issues.

  • Effective communication (written and oral), attention to accuracy of work, takes feedback and adapts, solves problems without being told to, works well in own organization and with others, and is a constant learner.  

  • Ability to work on-site in Farmington Hills, MI.
