Business Unit Control - Loan Specialist
Operations and Middle Office are two of the largest departments at Millennium. The Middle Office group consists of three inter-connected functions in the post-trade lifecycle: trade support, valuations, and business unit control. Middle Office supports all products traded within firm – ranging from simple listed equities to complex derivative products.
We have an exciting opportunity for a bright, motivated candidate to join and help move the firm forward as part of our Business Unit Control Group. We are looking for someone who can manage multiple priorities, works with a strong sense of ownership, and collaborates effectively across teams.
Responsibilities
- Operational processing and full trade lifecycle management for financial reporting
- Review daily, monthly reconciliations independently, ability to be escalation point
- Experience with P&L controls & reconciliations; General ledger and accounting data
- Build and improve processes/workflows
- Partner with Finance for month-end close and audit
- Liaise across the organization for information and problem solving
- Work with large data sets
- Ability to take trade and security data and transform into specs for technology to build from
Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Background in Accounting, Finance or Operations preferred
- Experience with a portfolio accounting systems, SS&C Geneva preferred
- Knowledge of fund accounting concepts / processes
- Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to prioritize work and function with minimal guidance
- Strategic thinker and problem solver
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong understanding of capital markets, hedge funds, and financial instruments
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Solid understanding of a wide range of financial products: Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, FX, Loans and Private Credit
- Excellent Excel skills; SQL abilities a plus
- Experience creating detailed product specifications and establishing robust controls to enable the successful launch of new product types
- Working knowledge of Gresham reconciliation tool is desirable
- Geneva system experience required; must be a subject matter expert in onboarding loans and managing loan life cycle events within Geneva.
- Deep understanding of loan life cycle processes and events, with the ability to configure and support these activities in Geneva.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
