Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services.As part of this dynamic and growing organization, you will join a collaborative, diverse team of experts in a performance‑driven environment. Based in Frankfurt, this Business Development role is at the forefront of driving growth for Mastercard Services in Germany, partnering with Financial Institutions and FinTechs across the market to shape and progress new opportunities.
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new commercial opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and building long‑term client partnerships. Working closely with account management teams and product and solutions specialists, you will position Mastercard Services as a strategic partner, delivering engagements across our consulting, analytics, marketing, loyalty, and platform‑based solutions portfolio that create measurable client impact.
The Role
• Shapes and executes the Mastercard Services growth strategy in Germany
• Understands the needs and challenges of Financial Institutions and FinTechs and translates them into compelling service opportunities
• Identifies new business opportunities creatively and proactively
• Develops strong, persuasive sales pitches and proposals with minimal guidance
• Analyzes client organizations, decision-making structures, and cultural factors to inform the sales strategy
• Produces well‑structured and compelling proposals targeted at senior management
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and decision‑makers
• Manages long‑term client relationships and identifies follow‑on opportunities
• Understands and internalizes the individual service offerings and develops a clear understanding of how they can be applied within the banking environment
• Partners with delivery teams to ensure project quality and continuity into future engagements
• Captures and disseminates knowledge across the broader Services organization
• Provides reliable and independent support to the management across a wide range of tasks
All About You
• Solid professional experience in a consulting firm, or within payments/financial services; sales experience preferred
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset and passion for business development
• Proven track record of building relationships with leaders in Financial Institutions and/or FinTechs
• Analytical thinker with the ability to communicate complex results clearly and compellingly
• Strong sales, presentation, and client management capabilities
• Customer-focused with strong negotiation skills
• Results-oriented and able to perform under pressure and meet ambitious deadlines
• Self-starter with a proactive approach and sense of ownership
• Comfortable working in an international environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English; additional languages are a plus
