Salary Range: $159,000-$212,000
Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short-term and long-term incentive plans.

The Business Capital Manager is an integral part of the Containerboard business and reports to the Capital Execution Director. This position is part of the Containerboard Capital Execution Team that leads all aspects of capital investment for the Containerboard Group. The successful individual will provide capital project support focused on Manufacturing Excellence and cost reduction to sixteen paper mills in the U.S. The location for the position is Memphis, TN, and it requires travel approximately 50% of the time.
The Job You Will Perform:
- Manage 1-2 Capital Projects Managers/Coordinators
- Drives key capital planning and execution for the Containerboard Business
- Manages Containerboard capital allocation process, collaborating with key stakeholders
- Improves business results by effectively managing our capital projects portfolio
- Directs implementation of systems and best practices for capital execution
- Supports the development and implementation of projects >$0.5MM
- Reviews capital investment proposals >$0.5MM
- Helps the mills capital engineering teams to ensure that projects are planned, developed, scoped, estimated, designed, staffed, constructed, and started up to meet business and operational objectives
- Help the mills capital project managers to ensure project specific cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives are met
- Supports Containerboard Business strategic analysis
The Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge You Will Bring:
- 4-year engineering or technical degree
- 10 years’ experience in Pulp and Paper manufacturing operations
- Extensive knowledge of corporate organization, capital project planning, and approval processes
- Understands production processes, costs, and quality concerns
- Understands manufacturing excellence, reliability, and safety systems
- Experience in change management
- Knowledge of SAP, BW, Unifier preferred or demonstrated ability to learn systems quickly
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including PowerPoint capability
