Business Architect
The Business Architect plays a crucial role in aligning business strategy with execution by developing and maintaining a holistic view of the business through enterprise architecture. The role is responsible for designing complex business changes in a structured manner to ensure the business achieves its goals. The Business Architect collaborates with stakeholders throughout the organization to define and align capabilities, processes, information, and supporting technology.
What will you be doing
Architecture
- Drafting Business Process Architecture (As-Is and To-Be), including clear domain definition and dependencies
- Documenting this architecture in a Process Repository (e.g., Adonis, ARIS, Signavio)
- Acting as a bridge between Business, IT, Data, and Product, and their respective architectures
- Ensuring consistency and coherence in the architecture by applying and promoting best practices and standards.
Strategic business alignment
- Translating strategic objectives into concrete tactical frameworks and solution directions.
- Advising on the impact of strategic and tactical decisions on the organization.
Portfolio Management
- Aligning the project portfolio with business goals and assisting with prioritization
- Identifying and managing dependencies between projects
- Business Analysis & Design
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand and document business needs and requirements.
- Collaborating with data and IT teams to design technical solutions that meet business needs, taking into account technical capabilities and limitations. Advising on the best approach.
- Participating in programs and projects to ensure correct architectural choices and alignment with the target architecture.
Governance & Guidance
- Establishing and managing governance with other Architects (Business, Data, IT) to properly shape and support programs through guidelines and advice
- Responsible for assigned business / process designers within department/domain/project on a content level

Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of BPMN, Process Architecture, and Process Design tooling
- Experience working in complex, dynamic environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, to translate shop floor issues to C-Level and vice versa.
- Both business and technical background
- Ability to effectively liaise with both business and technical stakeholders
- Ability to think in complex structures and translate these into work packages and governance for alignment.
- Managing (teams of) professionals on content.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
