Business Analyst – PMO 

Location: Hybrid (some occasional travel required)

Reports to: Senior Business Analyst 

Contract: TBC (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday) 

Salary: Up to £45k dependent on experience 

Job Summary 

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the Project Management Office (PMO) within the Digital Services team of a leading healthcare organisation. This role will play an important part in supporting the delivery of digital transformation and operational improvement initiatives across the organisation. 
 
Working closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders, the Business Analyst will be responsible for analysing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and supporting the design and implementation of digital solutions that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. 
 
The role will contribute to project scoping, business case development, solution evaluation, and successful implementation of digital systems. The successful candidate will help ensure that technology solutions align with organisational strategy, regulatory requirements, and the needs of service users and staff. 

Key Responsibilities 

Business Analysis & Requirements Management 

• Engage with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and technical teams to understand business needs and project objectives. 

• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and analysis sessions to elicit business, functional, and non-functional requirements. 

• Translate business needs into structured documentation including business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and process maps. 

• Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle. 

Process Analysis & Improvement 

• Analyse current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and automation. 

• Develop current-state and future-state process models to support transformation initiatives. 

• Conduct gap analysis to identify differences between current operations and desired solutions. 

Project Delivery Support 

• Work closely with Project Managers within the PMO to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria. 

• Support feasibility analysis and business case development for proposed initiatives. 

• Identify risks, dependencies, and impacts associated with project delivery and recommend mitigation strategies. 

• Work with project managers, stakeholders, and service leads to support the definition of measurable success criteria for digital initiatives.  

Solution Evaluation & Implementation 

• Collaborate with Digital Services teams to evaluate potential digital solutions and system enhancements. 

• Support solution design discussions to ensure business requirements are translated into effective technical solutions. 

• Contribute to vendor evaluations and technology selection where required. 

Testing & Implementation Support 

• Support planning and coordination of System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). 

• Develop test scenarios and support business users during testing phases. 

• Assist with defect management and validation of system functionality prior to deployment. 

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Support 

• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. 

• Support change management activities including communications, training materials, and adoption support. 

• Promote stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle. 

Data Analysis & Reporting 

• Analyse operational and system data to support evidence-based decision making. 

• Provide insights and reporting to support project performance tracking and continuous improvement. 

• Contribute to PMO reporting and governance documentation. 

• Assist in establishing baseline data where relevant and contribute to tracking and reporting of benefits to ensure that projects deliver measurable improvements in service quality, operational efficiency, and user experience 

Healthcare Compliance & Standards 

• Ensure digital initiatives comply with healthcare regulations including GDPR and CQC requirements. 

• Work with clinical teams to ensure solutions support service user safety, data integrity, and operational effectiveness. 

Key Requirements 

Experience 

• 3–5 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst in digital, technology, or transformation environments. 

• Experience supporting projects within a PMO or structured delivery environment. 

• Experience in healthcare or other highly regulated sectors is essential. 

• Ability to work across multiple projects and stakeholder groups. 

Skills & Competencies 

• Requirements elicitation and management. 

• Business process modelling and analysis. 

• Gap analysis and impact assessment. 

• Workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement. 

• Strong communication and documentation skills. 

• Experience supporting Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments. 

Tools & Technologies 

• Process modelling tools such as MS Visio or Lucidchart. 

• Agile and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Monday.com. 

• Enterprise Resource Planning tools such As Workday. 

Knowledge 

• Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management tools, business system applications and /or clinical systems. 

• Understanding of healthcare regulatory frameworks and data protection requirements. 

• Awareness of digital healthcare trends and technologies. 

Education & Certifications 

• Degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or equivalent experience. 

• Professional certifications such as BCS Business Analysis are desirable.
