Boiler Operator
Job Summary
Essential Job Duties & Accountabilities
Typical duties of the job include, but are not limited to:
1. Communicate clearly in English both verbally and written
2. Wear appropriate required safety gear
3. Attend work regularly and reliably
4. Work rotating shifts as assigned
5. Work overtime as scheduled or directed
6. Perform other duties as assigned
7. Operate computers to access/utilize company e-mail and to monitor equipment
8. Demonstrate awareness of and compliance with all pertinent safety policies and procedures
9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment
10. Operate mobile equipment in a safe manner
11. Participate in work related training programs and adhere to Company Core Values
12. Report pertinent information to appropriate company personnel
13. Firing gas or oil fired boilers
14. Starting up pumps
15. Regulating and adjusting fuel, air, and water
16. Operating water softeners
17. Operating, regulating, servicing and making repairs to various equipment
18. Identify Maintenance needs in the area and write notifications as needed.
19. Logging and recording operation and maintenance work performed
20. Analyzing water for purity and chemical balance
21. Utilities Operation and Procedures for Emergency Response Procedures, Wells, Fuels (gas),
Water Softeners, D.A. Tank, Boilers, Cooling Towers, Air Compressors, City Sewers, Meters, Log
Sheets/Charts, and Sulfite Makeup
22. Perform job duties in a manner that follow food safety and quality guidelines including but not
limited to HACCP, GMPs, QA Policies, Sanitation, and Pest Control.
Minimum Qualifications
-Education/Training Requirements: What should be the minimum education required for a new person entering this position?
-High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; Class 1 Operating Steam Engineer license by the state of Tennessee
-Experience What are the minimum years of "on-the-job" experience required for a new person entering this position, with or without the Education listed above?

Knowledge of Operation of high pressure boilers and related mechanical equipment · Meters, gauges, and graphs and their interpretation · Standard tests used in testing water and sewage · Chemicals used in treating water Ability to · Make accurate readings · Keep records · Make reports Skill in · Operating and maintaining equipment used in water and sewage plant operations · Operating and maintaining stationary boilers Certification in Class1 Steam Engineer
