Structural & Payload Design Engineer (Experienced, Senior or Lead)

The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Structural & Payload Design Engineer (Experienced, Senior or Lead) to join the team in El Segundo, CA.
Position Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross functional teams to interpret requirements, define interfaces and develop innovative integrated assembly designs using thorough design layouts to produce engineering definition documents
Develop, maintain, modify and interpret space structure engineering documentation using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools (PTC Creo), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T – ASME Y14.5M) standards and/or other design methods
Actively support design for manufacturing, integration reviews and process improvements by reviewing previous designs/lessons learned, regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and/or contracts in order to produce higher quality and more efficient detail designs and integration
Provide engineering support throughout fabrication, integration and test of structure products at suppliers and in-house facility
Create, disposition, and drive to closure anomalies related to assembly integration and structure hardware throughout product lifecycle
Support management of the engineering project by providing status and following the project plan
Experienced and Senior/Lead Engineers work independently under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final Clearance Post-Start is required.
Level 3: 3+ years of experience developing 3D CAD models and/or drawings
Level 3: 3+ years of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and/or support structure products
Experience working within a fast-paced team environment which required strong communication skills to frequently interact with Program Leadership, internal and external customer representatives and development teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 4: 5+ years of related systems design and integration experience, or equivalent education and experience
Level 5: 10+ years of related systems design and integration experience, or equivalent education and experience
9+ years of experience using Creo CAD tools
9+ years of applied experience in developing and providing instruction of technical documentation and training material for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
9+ years of experience with space platform structures or subsystems design and integration
Active TS/SCI level clearance

Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3): $111,350.00 - $150,650.00
Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $135,150.00 - $182,850.00
Summary pay range for Lead (Level 5): $165,750.00 - $224,250.00
