Part Time Tutor - Associate Degree Nursing

Job Summary The Associate Degree Nursing Tutor is a part-time staff position at Blinn College, and the tutor supports classes they have taken previously as a student. The candidate will need an instructor referral from Blinn. Principal Accountabilities Provides educational assistance to students in subjects eligible to tutor, including the methods of studying and improving understanding and comprehension of subject matter content. May collaborate with faculty to provide embedded tutoring support in specific, designated courses. Works well in a team environment and may be required to take on a peer leadership or mentoring position in the tutoring center when requested to do so. Hold scheduled appointments on campus, in-person at the tutoring space, or online over Zoom or Microsoft Teams, as needed. Prepare for tutoring sessions by reviewing relevant material. Meets and communicates with students in-person and via e-mail, eCampus, and other online platforms. Contributes to the preparation of collaborative group tutoring sessions and materials that will enhance student understanding of coursework. Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, and communication skills in accordance with policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
