Job Description: The Parent Development team is of the nation’s most successful and ambitious parent philanthropy programs in higher education. This team is focused on building relationships and securing gifts from current and prospective parent donors in support of University priorities. The Development Assistant (DA) supports the Director, Leadership and Major Gift Officers in the unit, as well as the Director of Women’s Philanthropy. This role is ideal for a candidate looking to make an immediate impact. The DA plays a significant and central role on the team, helping resource the fundraising team responsible for some of the University’s closest relationships. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, navigating a complex research organization, and managing simultaneous communications with multiple frontline fundraisers. Primary responsibilities include: Provide comprehensive administrative and project support to the Parent Development team and the Director of Women’s Philanthropy, including calendar coordination, meeting preparation, and follow-up Assist with planning, coordination, execution, and follow-up for prospect and donor outreach, events, engagement activities, and special initiatives Serve as a key liaison, partnering with other UA stakeholders, to support external constituents’ experience of campus, meetings, and special events within budgetary guidelines. Assist in producing development materials such as meeting agendas, briefing documents, newsletters, and stewardship communications tailored to donors Collect, compile, and maintain data related to fundraising initiatives Enter, update, and maintain accurate donor and prospect records and coding in fundraising database; input goals and solicitations Prepare, review, and distribute reports related to donor engagement, giving activity, participation, and fundraising progress Monitor and reconcile expenses; manage budget tracking and reporting Provide logistical support for development staff travel as necessary Support annual fundraising goals and planning efforts related to parent giving Perform other administrative and development-related duties as assigned Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The salary range for this position is listed below, with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity considerations. Hiring Range: $25.60/hr to $32.01/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
