Emergency Medicine Practice Manager
Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Practices, the largest multispecialty group in the region is looking for a full-time Practice Manager to join our experienced Emergency Medicine & EMS team in Springfield, MA.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Practice Manager of Emergency Medicine and EMS serves as a key operational leader and trusted partner to clinical and executive leadership. Reporting to the Program Director, you’ll help drive the daily operations and long-term strategy for both the Emergency Medicine Division and our Prehospital & Disaster Medicine programs.
You won’t just manage processes—you’ll design and improve them. From optimizing workforce strategy to strengthening EMS partnerships, your work will directly influence patient care, operational performance, and employee engagement across the system.
Lead Operations & Strategy
- Partner with senior leaders, including the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations and Program Director, to execute strategic initiatives
- Oversee multidisciplinary operations across emergency medicine and prehospital environments
- Support service-line growth, innovation, and performance improvement
Drive Workforce Excellence
- Manage complex provider scheduling, clinical hours tracking, and staffing models
- Develop network-wide staffing projections and FTE allocation strategies
- Oversee per diem and Flex Pool workforce deployment
Enhance Onboarding & Credentialing
- Lead onboarding for new providers and staff
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Medical Staff Office to ensure efficient credentialing
Strengthen Financial & Operational Performance
- Support budget development, variance analysis, and cost optimization
- Use dashboards and analytics to identify trends and opportunities
- Lead Lean-based process improvement initiatives
Oversee Prehospital & EMS Operations
- Collaborate with EMS agencies and external partners
- Manage operational performance within prehospital and disaster medicine programs
- Strengthen stakeholder relationships across the care continuum
Champion Collaboration & Governance
- Partner with HR, Finance, and administrative teams to ensure alignment
- Lead policy development and ensure compliance with system goals
- Support leadership with executive-level reporting and analysis

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field
- 3–5 years of progressive management experience in emergency medicine or clinical operations
- Master’s degree (MHA, MBA, MPH), preferred
- Experience with practice management, billing/coding, workforce scheduling, or EMS operations

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
