Azure Cloud Engineer
Summary:
The Azure Cloud Engineer works as part of a cross-functional infrastructure and cloud engineering team to design, deploy, operate, and continuously improve secure, scalable Microsoft Azure environments. This role emphasizes Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, cloud networking, identity integration, and platform reliability, partnering closely with security, application, and data teams to deliver resilient, well-architected cloud platforms using DevOps best practices.
Qualifications:
• Four-year college degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3–5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform or Bicep)
• Experience designing Azure networking architectures
• CI/CD pipeline experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar)
• Container experience (Docker required; AKS preferred)
• Cloud security controls implementation experience
• Automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience
• Microsoft Fabric experience
• Hybrid connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute)
• Azure landing zones and CAF alignment
• FinOps and cost governance familiarity
• Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification
Skills and Competencies

Work Conditions

Job Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep)
• Build, operate, and enhance CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery
• Architect and manage Azure networking, including Virtual WAN, VNets, peering, Route Server, private endpoints, DNS, load balancing, and gateways
• Implement identity, access control, and privilege management using Microsoft Entra ID (RBAC, PIM, managed identities)
• Design and operate secure storage solutions (Azure Storage, managed disks, Azure Files)
• Implement secrets, key, and certificate management using Azure Key Vault
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
• Operate and support Azure compute and platform services (VMs, App Service, Functions, AKS, Front Door, Load Balancers, Gateways, WAF)
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
• Apply cloud security best practices, governance standards, and compliance controls
• Support cost optimization, capacity planning, and resource lifecycle management

The potential base pay hiring range for this role is $95,000– $120,000 annually. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate.
