Automation Engineer (Standard & Controls)

 We are seeking an experienced PLC Automation Engineers to support the commissioning of large machines. This role will be onsite for a fixed-term assignment, focused on ensuring the operational readiness, functionality, and safety compliance of the machinery. We are looking for Rockwell Architecture experience. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Input/Output Verification: Test and confirm I/O functionality for all system components.
  • Safety I/O Verification: Conduct safety checks to meet standards.
  • Network Configuration: Configure IP addresses and establish Ethernet communication for the machine.
  • Sensor Calibration: Perform and adjust machine sensors as required.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical wiring issues.
  • Documentation and Follow-Up: Record and follow up on non-conformities to ensure issues are tracked and resolved.
  • Daily Reporting: Provide progress updates to the project manager.
  • Pneumatics Knowledge: Apply basic pneumatic knowledge as needed

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of commissioning experience in automation engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in robot programming
    • Knowledge of Control Techniques drives software (M-Connect, CT Soft)
  • Additional Skills:
    • Strong understanding of electrical schematics
    • Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems

📍 Location & Working Pattern

  • Full‑time - hybrid working - Office Location Derby
  • Base Salary - £48000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
