Your impact

 

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, in the role of Auto Electrician - Mobile Equipment, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing electrical systems and components across Newmont Boddington Gold's ancillary equipment comprised of Cat 18 & 24 Graders, D11 Dozers, 854 & 995 wheel loaders.

 

You will play a key role in ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard, maximising scheduled maintenance and minimising unplanned downtime through quality workmanship and strong fault-finding capability.

 

 

As part of our team you will

 

  • Maintain and service electrical systems and components on the ancillary fleet in a safe and efficient manner
  • Diagnose and rectify unplanned electrical faults to minimise disruption to production
  • Conduct defect elimination inspections and complete repairs on identified faults
  • Repair and refurbish failed electrical components as required
  • Download and interpret onboard monitoring systems to support maintenance decisions
  • Support the supervision of contractors to ensure work is completed safely and effectively
  • Raise purchase requisitions and coordinate parts/tools with Warehouse and Tool Store teams
  • Complete work orders, time confirmations and documentation with supporting detail (comments, drawings, photos)
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping during and after tasks
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and safer, more productive work practices
  • Assist with mechanical and related maintenance in the absence of electrical requirements

 

 

 

Prerequisites for your success in the role

 

  • Auto Electrical trade qualification
  • Current C-Class Driver's Licence
  • Experience maintaining mobile mining equipment (open pit and workshop environments)
  • Proven capability in fault finding, diagnostics, repairs and component refurbishment
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete maintenance documentation accurately
  • Strong commitment to safety systems including permits, JHAs and risk assessments
  • Air-conditioning ticket

 

 

 

Highly regarded

 

  • CAT SIS 2.0 and VIMS
  • CAT Electronic Technican (ET)
  • MR-Class Driver's Licence
  • High Risk Licences (crane, rigging, dogging, forklift, EWP)
  • SAP experience
  • Senior First Aid certificate
