Business Development Associate
ASSYST is looking for a proactive, high-energy Business Development Associate to join our growth team. This is an entry-level role designed for a motivated professional eager to build a career in federal contracting. You will support our senior leadership and capture managers in identifying new opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and contributing to winning proposals across federal and civilian markets. At ASSYST, you’ll be mentored by industry experts and supported by a mature corporate infrastructure, providing you with the tools and training needed to master the federal procurement lifecycle.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Pipeline Support: Assist in identifying, researching, and qualifying new business opportunities within federal and civilian agencies.
- Capture Assistance: Support capture planning activities, including conducting competitive analysis and researching agency spending trends.
- Relationship Management: Help maintain and update contact databases to strengthen existing client and partner relationships.
- Proposal Coordination: Contribute to RFP, RFQ, and task order responses by gathering requirements, organizing documentation, and drafting initial content under the guidance of Proposal Managers.
- Market Research: Monitor procurement portals (such as SAM.gov and GSA eBuy) for relevant notices and updates.
- Administrative Excellence: Prepare presentations, meeting minutes, and marketing collateral for client demonstrations and industry days.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records in the CRM (Salesforce) and provide regular updates on lead generation and pipeline status.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to learn ASSYST’s technical capabilities and help articulate our value proposition to potential clients.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience: 0–2 years of experience in business development, sales, internships, or administrative support (experience in a federal contracting environment is a plus but not required).
- Foundational Knowledge: A basic understanding of or a strong desire to learn about GSA Schedules, IDIQs, GWACs, and the federal procurement process.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, and an aptitude for learning CRM tools like Salesforce.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting ideas and interacting with internal teams.
- Mindset: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Analytical Ability: A data-driven approach to problem-solving and a knack for researching complex topics.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited four-year college or university.
