Job Title: Assistant Manager – Engineering
Location - Kharadi, Infra SEZ -Pune
Position Overview
The Assistant Manager – Engineering supports the Facility Manager (Engineering) in managing building maintenance operations, infrastructure, and technical systems. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, execution capability, and coordination skills to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support & Execution
- Support planning and execution of infrastructure maintenance programs and facility improvement projects
- Assist in analyzing operational processes, equipment performance, and energy consumption to identify efficiency improvements
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems
Equipment & Systems Management
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance of critical equipment and building systems
- Monitor system performance and coordinate timely repairs to minimize downtime
- Maintain records for equipment specifications, maintenance history, and warranties
Resource & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized works
- Supervise technicians and maintenance staff in assigned areas
- Support vendor evaluation, service contract management, and quality checks
Utilities & Cost Control
- Monitor utilities consumption (electricity, water, HVAC)
- Identify cost-saving and energy optimization opportunities
- Prepare utility consumption reports and trend analysis
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, building codes, and safety standards
- Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions
- Maintain statutory documentation related to fire, electrical, and environmental compliance
Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and technical documentation
- Prepare operational and performance reports for management review
- Assist in budget tracking, expense monitoring, and forecasting for maintenance and capex activities
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities engineering, building maintenance, or technical operations
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems
- Experience with preventive maintenance practices and FM best practices
- Familiarity with energy management and sustainability initiatives
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Working knowledge of facility management and maintenance tracking systems
Leadership & Communication
- Ability to supervise and guide technical teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective stakeholder and vendor coordination
Analytical & Problem-Solving
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound technical decisions
