Our Team:

The Immunology and Inflammation Research Therapeutic Area in Sanofi is building a world-class immunology team and is seeking a highly motivated associate scientist to work on projects evaluating novel therapies in the fields of Immune tolerance and autoimmunity, to treat autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will have a strong hands-on experience in cellular assays and flow cytometry, and excellent oral and written communication skills. This exciting role will afford the successful candidate the opportunity to play a key role in the innovation effort and to contribute to the development of numerous internal and collaborative research programs.

Main responsibilities:

The associate scientist will:

  • Contribute to the advancement of early research projects, working with lab technicians, scientists and project teams

  • Implement and develop new biological/biochemical assays to support multiple research projects within the Immune tolerance and autoimmunity cluster

  • Effectively interpret complex data and deliver comprehensive data packages to project team leaders and senior research staff

  • Work with primary immune cells and tissues including patient-derived material

  • Contribute to daily lab organization (e.g. organizing inventory, equipment maintenance and calibration)

  • Enable productivity, execution with a sense of urgency, teamwork, accountability, scientific rigor and excellence

  • Effectively and proactively communicates and defends own work in the context of team and department goals both orally and in writing

About you

Experience:

  • Experience in setting up in vitro primary immune cell based functional assays, extensive experience in multicolor flow cytometry, as well as molecular and cellular biology is required

  • Experience in cell culture of cell lines and human primary cells (in L2 lab)

Soft skills:

  • Enthusiasm and self-motivated scientist. Independent critical. Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and team player with the ability to work in a highly dynamic collaborative team environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: clear oral and written communication

  • Strong scientific curiosity and rigor, excellent technical and analytic skills and high ethical standards.

  • Flexibility to rapidly change priorities and deadlines and ability to operate in a fast-paced work environment

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in multiparametric flow cytometry including panel design and immunophenotyping and in cellular immunological assays such as proliferation, cytotoxic assays, MLR or Treg-mediated suppressive assays. Experience in human immune cell isolation. Working knowledge of various software (e.g. FlowJo, GraphPad Prism). Report writing and treatment of data with a high level of integrity and ethics.

Education:  

  • Master's degree in biotechnology, biochemistry or similar field with a significant hands-on lab experience

Languages:

  • English, (French desirable)

The salary range for this position is :€35 120,00 - €46 827

Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
